I read this book everyday called, "Daily Motivations for African-American Success" by Dr. Dennis Kimbro. Dr. Kimbro was my first-year seminar teacher a while back during my freshmen year at Clark Atlanta University. I won a copy of his book by earning a high grade for a lyceum I had written in his class. I want to share it with all of our daily viewers, and hope it helps you like it helps me. Today you should ask yourself, "How much of my potential am I using?" Once asked, you should then begin to exploit your talents. Everyone has an absolute advantage at doing great things with their talents. You shouldn't waste time on not using your talents because, time is money. A successful 24 hrs is potentially more lucrative than an unsuccessful 24hrs. Anything is possible in life. A broken clock is right at least 2 times a day. So, make things happen, or you will be the one asking "Paper or plastic?" (Not to discredit those who do that, but come on.) Peace.

TRVSDJ-AM In Critical Condition

Leaving a free show in SC, Travis Barker and DJ-AM's plane started to experience technical difficulties. It slammed through a fence and landed on an embankment yards away where it engulfed in flames. The roof was said to be removed off of one thirds of the jet and the nose was completely off.

They are in our prayers, for real. They were the ONLY two survivors out of 6.

The story follows,

Erik (TMZ cameraman) says he was at Terminal 4 (American Airlines) when he noticed a still photog taking several pictures of Kanye West. Erik says West rushed the photog and grabbed his camera. A struggle ensued and the still guy was screaming, "Police, help!" Erik says Kanye then took the still camera and threw it on the ground, breaking it into pieces.

Erik then went over to Kanye, his camera rolling, when Kanye's bodyguard walked up to him, realized Erik was taping, and said, "Give me the camera, give me the camera." Erik responded that he had a press pass and had a right to shoot. The assistant then grabbed the camera, ripped off the mic and viewfinder and smashed it to the ground.

Erik says Kanye then tried to leave to board his plane, but cops stopped him before he got to security. The cops then interviewed Erik, the still photog, Kanye and his assistant..

This is where it gets crazy. The cops asked Erik if he videotaped the incident and Erik said he had. That's when Kanye lunged toward him and said, "Give me the fu***ng videotape." Cops had to restrain Kanye as he tried coming at Erik.

Ryan Leslie Is Kinda Better Than Kanye

Musicwise. I have watched a ridiculous amount of YouTube videos featuring Next Selections very own Ryan Leslie. This man is a "bridgemaster". You know the bridge, that portion of the song where the singer gets the all the "ooohs" and "yeeeaahh, this is the transitional portion of the sooooong" out. Well it seems as though not only has he conquered that interim of the beat, he just overall doesnt sample. He plays all the instruments. All the synths, drums, mini horns, strings, chords, zaps, flangers, jazzamatazz, hi hats and snares and extremely well might I add. Maybe Im a sucker for that naturally good music. Which leads to my headlining statement. Think about it. If somebody had a 3 cheese lasagna that they prepared from scratch (kneeding the dough, grating the cheese, seasoning the meat, stirring the sauce, etc.)and someone else that opened up the box stuck it in the oven and had the same entree served it also as 3 cheese lasagna, not saying one doesnt TASTE better than the other (because they both make good beats), its just that one chef has more talent. Now this only producing wise. The actual beat itself. Everything else...(shrugs shoulders)...Ye has it on lock.
